Abrasive blast is the use of abrasive media for surface cleaning and preparation. Abrasive blast consists in using hard granular material of varying particle size for grinding and/or polishing, sanding or the wearing away of another material. For example, one can use abrasive blast to remove paint off a car. Abrasive blast can be done with materials as different as aluminum oxide, silicon carbine, steel shot, etc which are rubbed against a surface to clean or create a smooth or polished effect.
